Grass creates some of the most beautiful landscapes and can be very comforting to the eyes if maintained for height and quality. It is very beautiful to look at and provides a lot of comfort to the feet when you walk on it. Research done by home improvement write for us blog indicates that it also helps in improving eyesight; so flaunting a lush green lawn in your surroundings is the wisest investment to make. There are a variety of grasses which grow well in different seasons and which you could consider for the open space around the home. In the absence of research the varieties to consider could be overwhelming.

Each type has its own weaknesses as well as strengths and hence is most often classified accordingly. There are cool weather grasses and warm weather grasses. In the case of warm weather grasses, during the winter season the blades generally turn a golden brown color. The variety is distinct from other grasses because it can flourish well even in the scorching summer season. They cover expanses of land when they grow older; but thrive in specific regions only.

In the case of cool weather grasses, as the name suggests they grow well in the winter months. During the hot weather they turn brown and remain dormant till they raise their blades once again in the favorable winter.

One of the most famous ones is the Kentucky variety which can grow well in both winter as well as the summer season. It is due to the blue color of the seed that bluegrass gets its name. Monkey grass grows in almost all seasons and regions. It is commonly used to cover the turf ground and does not need to be mowed regularly.

There are many other grasses which grow in cool weather conditions, like the Fescues, Bent grasses and Bermuda. Zoysia and centipede grass grow well in warm weather conditions and can adjust to soil types that are not so fertile also. They also have a higher resistance to insects and pests and hardly call for any type of maintenance.

One of the fastest growing types of grasses is St. Augustine, which survives well in mild climates. Many of the grasses are tolerant to drought as well as extreme cold. A good example of such types is the carpet grass. Depending upon the climate of the region and the type of rainfall received, you can plant the variants accordingly.
